Smithsonian - Udvar-Hazy Space Museum (at Dulles Airport)

 We are REALLY not "space enthusiasts" but we couldn't resist visiting this extension of the Smithsonian before taking a flight to Europe.... As always, taking a guided tour is essential!

Dunbarton Oaks

Part museum, part botanical garden..... housed in a historical Georgetown residence, Dunbarton Oaks now contains a museum, research facilities and grounds for "rent" for events.....

Smithsonian - Air and Space Museum

 We have visited almost EVERY other building in the Smithsonian collection except for this one.... we are not really "space nuts".... but the tour was so informative that we visited the OTHER part of the museum near Dulles Airport on a different DC visit.... it was that good of a tour!

Mt. Vernon

 Just a short drive from D.C. ....... definitely worth some time for a visit..... and tour, if possible.

JFK Eternal Flame and Memorial

 Changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier..... very impressive.... especially in the poor weather.....

National Zoo

 An amazing public zoo.... take
the Metro and enjoy!  It can be crowded.... it covers lots of area.... wear your walking shoes!
